  • The OG Cryopod Windows – Space Engineers

I was sitting here wondering why all the other cryopods in the game have glass where you can see through them, but yet the base game, OG version doesn’t. This mod makes it so you can see thru the vanilla OG cryopod’s window. Only changes model, does not modify stats or functionality.

  • Petition to Require Starlink to offer Public IP option for Residential plans

In the digital age, a unique public IP address is more than a commodity; it’s a necessity, at least, for those of us who do a lot where we might need one (tech enthusiasts, remote workers, etc). However, Starlink Residential plan users like us are grappling with the challenge of being restricted to a CG NAT, shared IP address. This limitation affects their ability to host servers, access home networks remotely, or use specific online services in a way where we can allow access into our network.

A public IP address removes this limitation. For those working from home or running businesses dependent on these abilities, a static public IP can be invaluable. Starlink, a major player in the satellite internet sector, currently does not offer Residential plan users the option to purchase a public IP – only their priority tier, or higher. And their priority tier is less than ideal, especially for someone who doesn’t want to pay outrageous amounts of money for unlimited internet with this additional addon. This lack of choice hinders the many individuals who this could be beneficial to.

Offering an option to purchase a public IP would not only enhance user satisfaction but would allow Starlink to cater to a broader customer base, specifically those who require more robust connectivity solutions. By providing this option, Starlink could maintain its competitive edge and support the growing number of remote workers and tech-reliant households.

Join me in urging Starlink to expand its Residential plans to include an option for purchasing a public IP address. Sign this petition to help advocate for this addon, and to remove this limitation!

  • 2D Game testing (video showcase)

Just a separate blog post for the video I just uploaded, showcasing a recent test playthrough of my WIP 2D Game and custom Game Engine.

Custom game engine and 2D game playthrough. Work in progress. Early prototype version.
  • More work on the custom game engine (Vyrex)!

I’ve been doing some more work on the custom game engine, as well as the 2D game I’m making with it.

I’ve decided to go with the Vulkan renderer, for cross compatibility between OSes and systems. I’ve been thinking of doing something like AngleEGL in addition to that, for compatibility and good performance with systems like Raspberry Pis, Chromebooks, etc.

I plan to upload a YouTube video some time this week or coming weekend, showcasing some work I’ve done on the project, such as adding an ore and crafting system to the game (get ores by destroying asteroids, refine them into ingots using the refinery, use the ingots to assemble components in the assembler).

I need to tackle the audio system at some point. Refine it, and get some better sounds. Maybe also work in some game music or something.

Oh, I plan to publish the game to Steam. I’ve been thinking of Galactic Prospectors, or Galactic Sandbox for the name. I’m not sure yet. It’s a sandbox, with an infinite world.

Stay tuned for my later blog post and YouTube video! Cheers!

  • Space Engineers Modding, VC Redist issue

    Greetings all,

It appears that Microsoft has removed the download for the Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012, which is required for SEUT (Space Engineers Utilities, an SE modding tool) to work properly. As such, I went digging and found that I have a copy of the VC Redist, and am going to host it for download here:

Download Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012

Hopefully this is just an error on Microsoft’s part, but it would appear that they may be phasing the VC Redist for VS2012 out (see images below).

    Cheers, and happy modding!

  • Tinkering & Testing with the 2D Asteroid Shooter project

Just testing some new stuff with that 2D Asteroid Shooter project I’m working on with the custom game engine. I added some enemy AI, did performance improvements, and a few other things behind the scenes as well as some UI improvements.

  • RGB Engineers?

I was tinkering with scripts last night for Space Engineers, and upon trying to change emissives of the block a player is looking at, I ended up finding out you can change the character’s suit emissives. This made for some interesting results, so I made it a mod.

  • Prototype of 2D Asteroid game published on Itch.io!

    Greetings everyone,

I have published a prototype of the 2D Asteroid Shooter Project that I showcased the other day on itch.io!

It uses a custom engine I made, called Vyrex Engine. It uses C#, Avalonia and will use SharpDX in a later version once it’s stable. I might publish the code base to GitHub at some point. It’s definitely not finished nor has everything in it that I have in mind, so I’ll be doing some updates here and there to it.

If you want to see me take this project places, consider donating (you can do so on the itch.io page for the game). Feel free to also drop a comment down below and let me know what you think I should do with the project
