  • Petition to Require Starlink to offer Public IP option for Residential plans

In the digital age, a unique public IP address is more than a commodity; it’s a necessity, at least, for those of us who do a lot where we might need one (tech enthusiasts, remote workers, etc). However, Starlink Residential plan users like us are grappling with the challenge of being restricted to a CG NAT, shared IP address. This limitation affects their ability to host servers, access home networks remotely, or use specific online services in a way where we can allow access into our network.

A public IP address removes this limitation. For those working from home or running businesses dependent on these abilities, a static public IP can be invaluable. Starlink, a major player in the satellite internet sector, currently does not offer Residential plan users the option to purchase a public IP – only their priority tier, or higher. And their priority tier is less than ideal, especially for someone who doesn’t want to pay outrageous amounts of money for unlimited internet with this additional addon. This lack of choice hinders the many individuals who this could be beneficial to.

Offering an option to purchase a public IP would not only enhance user satisfaction but would allow Starlink to cater to a broader customer base, specifically those who require more robust connectivity solutions. By providing this option, Starlink could maintain its competitive edge and support the growing number of remote workers and tech-reliant households.

Join me in urging Starlink to expand its Residential plans to include an option for purchasing a public IP address. Sign this petition to help advocate for this addon, and to remove this limitation!
